Hi there,
how are you, my dears? I am busy like a bee. I know it looks like that I am doing nothing, but the opposite is true. You could see it in next two weeks. I hope so :-) Anyway, you write me quite often with asking - how I make the pompoms. So, I decided to write one collective answer :-) And make tutorial of How I am making the pompoms.
I know, that there are many ways, how to make the pompoms. Someone use the paper's template, the forks, some pompoms makers by different producers. I tried all of these ways - but the best for me is using the pompom maker by Clover. My huge compliments for designer of this pompoms maker. It is really great helper! :-) You could buy it e.g. on www.ebay.com, key words: pompom maker clover. There are several sizes of the pompom makers. I have 4 sizes: bigger pompoms (green and blue pack) average 65 mm and 85 mm and smaller pompoms (pink and yellow pack) average: 35mm or 45mm. And this is enough for me. Most of all I am using yellow and green pompom maker.
Instruction:
Open one side of your pompom maker.
You will take the yarn. I am always using two threads, when I am making the pompom. Wind up the yarn around one part of the pompom maker.
Please don't hurry. Wind up the threads equally. Use quite big amount of the yarn, to the pompom will look nice, has beautiful shape and be thick enough.
Make the same on the other side.
Close both parts together and get nice circle.
Now you will cut the yarn in the middle of the circle.
Now you have to join both parts of the pompoms. Wind up the yarn in the middle between both parts of pompom maker and make the knot. It had to be winded very tightly around the threads of the pompom. You will not see the yarn in the middle then. Wind up the yarn around again and make the knot again. Let longer threads for tie up the finished pompom.
Open the pompom maker.
And your new nice pompom is finished :-)
